A family estate in the East African highlands

Acacia Coffee Co. sits in Acacia Valley on the volcanic slopes of the East African highlands. The altitude, mineral-rich soil and bimodal rainfall give us the conditions we need to grow clean, layered arabica year after year.

The farm has been run by the Moshi family for three generations and sixty harvests. Everyone from field worker to estate manager lives on-site. We have two natural springs, an on-farm wet mill, a cupping kitchen and 120 permanent staff with housing, medical care and schooling provided.

The way we work shapes the cup

Four practices sit at the core of everything we do. They feed into cleaner, more consistent coffee and better lives for the people who grow it.

Soil first

Every coffee pulp goes back to the fields as compost. The volcanic soil is the estate's most valuable asset.

Clean water

Our wet mill uses spring water and recirculates during peak harvest to protect downstream watersheds.

Fair work

Every permanent worker has housing, medical care and schooling for their children as part of their employment.

Traceable export

Every bag carries its block, variety and harvest date. Roasters who visit can stand where their coffee grew.

Natural lots are stand-out

Red-fruit heavy, syrupy body, surprising clarity for a natural. A favourite at our cupping table this year.
