Three grades of highland arabica

Every bean is hand-picked, processed on the estate and cupped daily. Choose the grade that fits your programme.

Specialty micro-lots

Small-batch lots produced from our highest blocks between 1,700 and 1,900 metres. Three processes are available: fully washed for jasmine and stone-fruit clarity, naturals for red-berry and cocoa depth, and experimental carbonic maceration for winey intensity.

Every lot is fermented, dried and graded separately. We cup daily and sell each lot with its own ID, variety, process and harvest date.

Northern peaberry

Peaberry forms when only one of the two seeds in a cherry develops, producing a single oval bean. We separate peaberry at the dry mill using optical sorting and hand grading, then cup every lot to ensure consistency before export.

Expect a bright, clean cup with blackcurrant and citrus notes, a medium-to-full body and a long chocolatey finish. The uniform shape of the bean makes it easier to roast evenly than flat beans of similar size.

AA & AB commercial grades

Our commercial grades are the backbone of the estate's output. Same blocks as our specialty lots, sorted by screen size rather than cupping score. Expect a clean highland cup with citrus acidity, toffee sweetness and a medium body that sits well in espresso and filter blends.

AA lots are screen 17 and above. AB lots combine screens 15 and 16. A standard 20ft container carries 320 bags of 60kg, or 19.2 metric tonnes of green coffee. We split containers across AA and AB on request.

Questions from roasters and importers

AA and AB are size grades, AA being the largest screen and AB a mixed large and medium. Peaberry is a single oval bean inside the cherry and is separated during sorting. Peaberry roasts more uniformly and often cups with a livelier, more concentrated flavour.

Fully washed processing is our standard, with dedicated experimental natural and carbonic maceration lots. Washed production uses water from two natural springs on the estate.

Yes. 300g sample bags of any available lot are dispatched within five working days of request.

All green coffee ships in 60kg jute bags with GrainPro inner liners. Private labelling is available for full container orders.

Specialty micro-lots typically score 85 to 88 SCA. Top natural and carbonic lots reach 88+. Commercial AA and AB lots score 82 to 84.
